Clay-Mates - Boutique Range.
The first of them became available in June 2006.
What exactly are they?
Well.. as you know Clay-Mates take a lot
of painstaking time to make and some take a LOT longer than others. The
more complicated ones are more, err… complicated. They take longer to build by
hand (about 3 times as long). So we have put these rather special Clay-Mates in their own new Category
and we’ve called them the Boutique Range. Below is a picture of them being made... Can you work out which one is being made?? The colours are faint because thay have not been in the Kiln yet!! The 'firing'makes the colours more bold. As a clue she is making one of our 'Boutiques'.
They are more expensive….. why?
Yup… they are. We make no apologies for
this and we still think that they are great value. In fact better value. The reason is that we are going to restrict the
numbers produced severely so that they are more rare than the normal
Clay-Mates. They will come in their own li'l box.
Do they still have names and
Sure do. Just the same. They will ‘run
out’ rather than become retired and when they are all sold then we won’t be
making any more.
How Many will there be and how do I
know which they are?
To start with, we’ll have a range of
about 20 and see what happens from there. We will introduce them one at a time
every month among our normal new ones. They will all have a maroon colour on
the website shop and will have their own category.
Who designs them?
We don’t like to hoot our own horns
here, but we are really quite talented at designing Clay-Mates and our
designers sometimes get carried away a bit. So we have let them have a free
rein to get creative!
Do they still fit in my Clay-Mate House?
Most of them should do but they tend to
be a little bigger and beefier than other Clay-Mates so they may have to sit on
the 'attic' part of the House. Of course you will need to remove them from their box to do that.
Can I get them in the shops?
The big plan right now is that shops
will stock them but we cannot promise that all Authourised Clay-Mate Retailers
will stock them. You can get the full range on the website, of course.
See you on the Clay-Mate website
